Before coming to the "Malligadu" A.K.A "Paruthiveeran" movie review i would like to say a Few Lines about The Epic film which changed the vision of Tamil Cinema few Years ago.I would rather say it was a Path breaking film and with its Hard hitting intense Love story it created a separate place in the Hearts of the viewers.
Speaking about the Director "Aamir",He is a well known Tamil director for his gripping narration and thinking ability .He gave a stupendous success to the actor Surya ( Brother of Karthi ) with the Film Mounam Pesiyadhe which made Suriya to stand in the Front race and also enabled him as a Commercial hero.Later he had a big Task in his Hands to introduce,who just completed his Masters Degree in USA and the bigger task is to cast him in a Village Love story in which Hero is an amatured,drunker and an illiterate.The film which was released on February 23rd 2007 became a Stupendous Success and ran for more than a year in Few centers.
Story :
The Story set in the remote village in Nellore district far from the City circumstances.Malli Babu(Karthi) is a care free guy lives with his Uncle and Leads a criminal Life.His only biggest dream is to do a bigger crime and go to Central jail.Muthyalu (Priya mani) is the child hood cousin of Malli babu who is madly in love with him,but he remains unmoved and keeps her at fair distance.When he comes to know the pure love of Priyamani,he realizes his mistake and decides to marry her.This comes to the notice of Muthyalu's father.He brings in people from the next village to wipe out the malli gadu and his Family.In this process he also makes a marriage agreement with a local goon to kill Malli gadu and give his Daughter in return.This makes Both the Lead Pair to elope and what follows is the story which is pretty heavy to explain.

Would you believe this is the Debut of Karthi ? He is a Perfect match to Tough and Brutal Bully Character.Not to forget the Performance of Muthyalu(Priyamani).She is matured,aggressive and stubborn all the way in the Film.Her oily face and village Kind of looking Girl is apt opposite Karthi.Sarvanan as His uncle was Brief and Good.Ganja Karuppu who is noted to the Telugu audience in Ananthpuram 1980 brought few Laughs.Rest of them had nothing to do in the Film
Behind The Screen :
One Should appreciate the Director for his Hard Hitting intense Love Drama which Portrayed the lives of Villagers,their Customs and Culture.Yuvan was not up to the mark in the Music as well as Back Ground music.Cinematography is good in the Flash back episodes.Art Department has to get a special mention to create a village environment where a Mobile Phone or at least Telivision is not found in the entire Movie.
Our Opinion :
My sincere advice to the Family audiences is to Keep minimum distance from the Theaters Playing Malligadu.This not for the Regular audience who Love Rom-com movies.If you want to witness a spectacular Performances from the Lead pair irrespective of the nativity can watch this.
P.S :
Although i did watch the film in Tamil way Back in 2007.I was connected to the movie well and the movie haunted me for few days because of the content and especially Priyamani's Acting in the Climax scenes.I should admit that i didn't get the same Feel when i was watching the Telugu version.In a way I must say that "If Poison kills the Person,dubbing Kills the Cinema". I would suggest you to watch the original version with subtitles rather watching the Telugu (dubbed ) version.The only reason I am going with 3 is because of the unforgettable Performances of the Debut Star Karthi and National award winning Heroine Priyamani.
