Krrish 2
Director: Rakesh Roshan
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut
Story: Hrithik Roshan will take the 'Krrish' legacy forward in the third episode of the superhero series, to be directed by the original director Rakesh Roshan (after Rakyesh Mehra was considered for the same). For the first time, the series will see an as much competent super-villain in the form of Vivek Oberoi. While Priyanka is retained from the last episode, Kangana Ranaut is added to the cast (after Chitrangda Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez opted out). Buzz is that Krrish 2 has a huge influence of the X-Men series!

Housefull 2
Director: Sajid Khan
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, John Abraham, Asin, Zarine Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shahzahn Padamsee, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakravarthy, Boman Irani, Shreyas Talapde
Akshay Kumar will upgrade from a nerd to a cool James Bond kinda character. Asin,Jacqueline, Shahzahn and Zarine are expected to be seen in bikini this time around. Real-life brothers Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor will face each other onscreen for the first time and bring on some sibling rivalry in play, while carrying their real- life nicknames Dabboo and Chintu. The top dancers of the 80s, Mithun and Rishi Kapoor will fight it out in a dancing competition. Rani Mukherji, Karisma Kapur and Malaika Arora will be seen in item numbers. Cricketers Dhoni and Raina are expected to make cameos. Virgin locations from Argentina and Chile will be explored. Sajid Khan has ensured that every aspect of his comedy-caper Housefull 2 gets bigger and better!

Dabangg 2
Director: Arbaaz Khan
Cast: Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Prakash Raj
The original director Abhinav Kashyap might have walked out from the franchise and so has villain Sonu Sood. But that doesn't stop producer-actor Arbaaz Khan to go ahead with the sequel and even take up the directorial reins. After all he has the main strength of the series with him - Salman Khan. Prakash Raj is the new villain and while they wanted a supplementary villain in the form of Sonu Sood (remember he has an unrevealed twin brother in the original), Sonu didn't want to play second fiddle. The real challenge is to re-erect the magic of 'Munni Badnaam Hui'.

Race 2
Director: Abbas-Mustan
Cast: Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Ameesha Patel, Anil Kapoor
John Abraham is added to the suspense-thriller franchise. Bipasha mightdo a cameo but is not sharing screen-space with John. Deepika Padukone is paired opposite John Abraham and Ameesha Patel opposite Anil Kapoor. After continual date issues and casting changes (Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha were considered), the film is finally going on floors. Abbas-Mustan plan to make it slicker and edgier.

Raaz 3
Director: Vikram Bhatt
Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bipasha Basu
Now this has a lot of mix-n-match in terms of its cast and crew. Vikram Bhatt who directed the first blockbuster in 2002 is back to direct the third installment. With his success in the horror genre (1920, Shaapit, Haunted), Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, with whom Vikram had a fallout, roped him back for Raaz 3. The film stars the lead pair of Murder 2 - Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez. Also Bipasha Basu, who starred in the first part, returns in Raaz 3. Vikram Bhatt gets his 3D expertise to the horror genre in this film too.

Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro
Director: Sanjay Khanduri
Cast: Vivek Oberoi
Sanjay Khanduri's Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local might not have been a money-spinner when it released in 2007 but clearly it went on to become a cult film in the comedy genre for its interesting storyline. The director returns after half a decade with a thematic sequel to his debut film and goes for a complete change in the cast. Abhay Deol is replaced by Vivek Oberoi and the setting is taken to Delhi with the protagonist missing the last metro train instead of Mumbai local. It will be the first film to be shot at Qutub Minar in 20 years and buzz is that Vivek has also done a striptease act in the film.

Shootout at Wadala
Director: Sanjay Gupta
Cast: John Abraham, Anil Kapoor Sanjay Gupta will do a follow-up to his 2007 flick
Shootout at Lokhandwala with Shootout at Wadala.
While both films are separate stories completely, the common link is the inspiration from a real- life shootout incident. Technically, this can he tagged as a prequel though since it goes much back in time and explores the Mumbai underworld of the 70s. Anil Kapoor is playing the role of Isaque Bagwan, Mumbai's first encounter specialist while John Abraham will play the notorious gangster Manya Surve. Crime journalist S Hussain Zaidi, known for his realistic portrayal of the Mumbai underbelly in his books, is penning the script of the film.

Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum
Director: Sachin Yardi
Cast: Riteish Deshmukh, Tusshar Kapoor, Sarah Jane Dias, Neha Sharma
A little late in the day, seems like even Ekta Kapoor is trying to bank on the current trend of sequels by planning one for her 2005 comedy. So Riteish Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor will be back to tickle your funny bone in what seems to be the benchmark for sex- comedy in Bollywood in recent times. The writer of the original, Sachin Yardi will be directing Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum and buzz is that the adult humour content would be considerably toned down in the sequel. Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma will join the boys in the sequel.

Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2
Director: Milan Luthria
Cast: Akshay Kumar
Another sequel from Ekta Kapoor comes in the form of Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai where Milan Luthria takes forward his Mumbai underworld story, with Akshay Kumar replacing Emraan Hashmi's character of don. Once again the character is said to be modeled on the lines of Dawood Ibrahim. However the makers claim that the film will explore the romantic side of his story to a bigger extent. Kareena Kapoor has been approached for the female lead.

Rock On 2
Director: Abhishek Kapoor
Cast: Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Sharman Joshi, Purab Kohli
The much-anticipated sequel to Rock On will finally materialize soon with the same cast. Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli will reprise their roles from the original and reportedly the story is about their search for the fourth band- member (since Luke Kenny dies in the first part). Sharman Joshi will be playing that character. Jannat 2
Director: Kunal Deshmukh
Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta, Randeep Hooda
The success of Jannat in 2008 catapulted Emraan Hashmi in the big league. Perhaps that's what has encouraged the Bhatts to make it as a franchise (they seem to have the maximum film franchise today - Raaz,Murder, Jannat). So after match-fixing, director Kunal Deshmukh tackles with the theme of illegal arms with a Delhi setting. Ex Miss India Esha Gupta is paired opposite Emraan (Prachi Desai and Bengali actress Paoli Dam were considered for the part earlier). Randeep Hooda and Imran Zahid havebeen added to the cast.

Tanu Weds Manu Season 2
Director: Aanand L Rai
Cast: Kangana Ranaut, Madhavan
For a change, this is a Bollywood sequel where the female lead is being retained while it's still not confirmed whether the male lead will be taken forward. Kangana Ranaut's zany, outgoing character in the original was clearly the USP of the romantic-comedy and the makers want to retain that. Buzz is that since Madhavan asked for a higher fee, the makers are planning to get a bigger star in his place instead. Aanand L Rai continues to be the director and the Season 2 is expected to move to foreign shores where the now married couple face a new set of problems in their life.

Dedh Ishqiya
Director: Abhishek Chaubey
Cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi, Madhuri Dixit, Kangana Ranaut
Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi will once again bring together their conman chemistry in the Ishqiya sequel.Vidya Balan is however replaced by two female leads - Madhuri Dixit and Kangana Ranaut. So this time the two men won't have to share their love interest. The film is expected to start early next year.

1920 - Evil Returns
Director: Bhushan Patel
Cast: Aftab Shivdasani, Tia Bajpai
Vikram Bhatt's first horror hit might be Raaz but the success of 1920 established him as a pro in the genre (which he followed by Shaapit and Haunted). Now he has announced a sequel to 1920. This is amongst the few sequels where the female lead (Adah Sharma) is retained while the male lead, Rajnish Duggal is replaced by Aftab Shivdasani - a Vikram Bhatt favourite. The film will be directed by Bhatt's assistant Bhushan Patel.
Ghayal Returns
Director: Rahul Rawail
Cast: Sunny Deol
Unlike most other sequels which are made within a gap of 2-4 years from the original, Ghayal Returns is different in the sense that it is the second installment of a film after 22 years. Ghayal released in 1990 and remains one of the most powerful performances of Sunny Deol till date. So the original action hero intends to go in flow with the current craze of sequels and revive his angry-action image in Ghayal Returns. While Ashwini Chaudhary was supposed to direct the film earlier, Sunny Deol's favourite Rahul Rawail has taken over the project.
